Yellow Polyps ( Parazoanthus )

These polyps are one of my favourites within my tank. Probably because they have flourished so well and continue to spread. Within my tank they are directly in line of the spray bar from my Eheim 2227 main filter. Thus, they get a good blast of current every minute or so. I don't believe they like continuous current, as a colony I placed elsewhere in the line of a powerhead did not flourish at all.

I believe my success with these polyps, has come due to regularly feeding them. My method of feeding these polyps is to fill a small syringe with spirallina or plankton and inject a small quantity around their tentacles until they retract with the food. You can actually see them take the food down their stems. I tend to feed these polyps once a week. The only problem I find, is that my Cleaner shrimp always tries to dig the food out of the polyps. I don't think he does any harm though, so I always try to feed him first now.
